Argento Law Group, P.C. filed a lawsuit against Skokie Meadows Nursing Center on behalf of a widow whose husband died from septic shock during his residency at the facility. In short, the resident was an elderly gentleman with a diagnosis of dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. He was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection during his residency which went un-treated. As a result, the urinary tract infection advanced into sepsis which developed into septic shock. The resident died in a local hospital as a result of the septic shock. The decedent’s widow filed a lawsuit against Skokie Meadows Nursing Center for violations of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.
