Argento Law Group, P.C. recently filed a lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Cook County for nursing home abuse and neglect against Bridgeview Healthcare Center. The plaintiff, a one hundred year old resident who lived at the facility for over ten years, was continuously subjected to abuse and neglect by Bridgeview Healthcare towards the end of her residency. The lawsuit against Bridgeview Healthcare Center states that the nursing home resident suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. During her stay at the nursing home, the resident was abused and neglected by the facility in that the facility:
Allowed her to suffer from urinary tract infections (UTI) and other diseases
Allowed the resident to develop bed sores or pressure ulcers
Left the window to her room open while the resident suffered from pneumonia, allowing cold air to blow on the resident
Was left sitting in a wheelchair all day causing the resident to lose the use of her legs
Was assaulted by a guest to the facility while sitting in her wheelchair
Abandoned the resident in the restroom for extended periods of time
Allowed the resident’s personal items to be stolen (i.e. jewelry and a television)
Allowed the resident to fall from her bed causing her to suffer from significant personal injuries
Roughly handled and physically abused the resident causing her to suffer bruises.
Thankfully, the resident’s family moved quickly and transferred the resident to another facility where she is now receiving excellent care (just in time for her 100th birthday!). Argento Law Group, P.C. filed suit against Bridgeview Healthcare Center for the injuries suffered by the resident during her stay at the facility. To date, Bridgeview Healthcare Center refuses to take any accountability for the abuse, neglect and injuries suffered by the resident during her stay at the facility.
